Had my GP(General Paper) Block Test just now. One word. SHIT. The topic was absolutely predictable yet i continued to speculate instead of preparing myself for it. Ms Lin just HAD to give us that extra article, didn't she? Well, its my fault I ignored her comment regarding the OTHER article begining with "This is VERY important..."
So my analytical question lacked a complete, solid example (other than about some polar bears), EVALUATION (I should just....do something horrible to myself) and a PART of the requirements. If i'm lucky, i'll get my usual 3/8.
And my vocabulary has gone to the dogs. I KNEW the meaning of inexorable. I just happen to forgot. That's one less mark away from the B i'm hoping for from GP. I might even fail. Oh no, then i won't be able to go to UK.....
What's this about going to UK, someone asked?
Here's the deal. The Humanities Department of IJC has been holding overseas trips since it was opened two years ago. One of the trips is to Pulau Tioman in Malaysia, the other is to the U.K. Over there, students will be exposed to the things we learn about in Geography, Economics and, to some extent, Literature. we will get to travel to the Lake District to learn about rivers, not to mention witness one of the most panaromic view the U.K can boast. We get to travel to Stratford-Upon-Avon, birthplace of THE William Shakepeare, where we get to visit his childhood home as well as the legendary Globe Theatre. Then we go to London where we get to attend a lecture(hah! and i'm actually looking forward to it) at the London School of Economics.
This is, of course, besides the fact that we get to experience first hand European food and culture, go crazy at the shops( and locals), as well as explore the British Museum (which houses some of the world's largest amount of booty and stolen artifacts from around the world).
But, to qualify for the trip, one must be able to 1) Pay- my mother said "We'll see" which is usually a good sign- and 2) achieve at least a pass for H2 Economics, Geography and one other H1 subject. The only H1 subject i can currently pass is GP. If i fail GP, i might have to rely on Maths (which would be an extremely laughable situation to find myself in) because Malay is no longer an option ( I got a B for my H1 Malay and I'm no longer taking it). And there is that added little detail where the teachers will only be able to take 40 students with them. If more than 40 people meets the criteria, the decision will all be made based on merit.
Meaning that if i don't do well for this block test, i can kiss U.K's ass goodbye.
On a lighter note, Yu'an and Elizabeth has labelled me as The-Guy-Who-Is-Going-To-Ruin-Their-Lives. I've not a single idea why. I was just being my usual, witty, lovable self.
I hate harping about problems.
